505 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Zubayr related to us, from Sufyān, from Abū Sinān, who said:
Allah, exalted is He, says: “O world, pass over the believer so that he may remain patient with you, and do not present yourself as sweet to him, for you would lead him astray. O son of Adam, devote yourself to My worship and I shall fill your heart with contentment and satisfy your need; but if you do not, I will keep you endlessly preoccupied and will not relieve your poverty.”
