Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal

504 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Abū Muʿāwiyah informed us; al-Aʿmash transmitted from Sālim ibn Abī al-Jaʿd, who said:

“A woman once went out carrying a loaf of bread and her small child. A wolf came and snatched the child from her, so she set off in pursuit. While she was chasing the wolf, the loaf was still in her hand. A beggar crossed her path, and she gave him the loaf.

Then,” he added, “the wolf returned with her child and placed him back before her.”
