500 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Sayyār narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated to us. He said: I heard Mālik ibn Dīnār say:
“Allah—glorified and exalted be He—says: ‘I intend to chastise My servants; yet when I behold the companions of the Quran, the regular worshippers who keep the mosques alive, and the young children raised within Islam, My anger is stilled.’ And He says: ‘So I turn My punishment away.’”
