Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal

499 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Sayyār narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated to us; ʿImrān Abū al-Hudhayl narrated to us; and Wahb ibn Munabbih narrated, saying:

“It has reached us that Allah—glorified and exalted is He—says: ‘I alone am sufficient wealth for My servant. So long as My servant remains obedient to Me, I grant him before he asks of Me, and I answer him before he calls upon Me; for I know better than he what will truly benefit him.’”
