489 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; al-Hasan ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz al-Misri—also known as al-Jarawi—narrated to us; ʿAmr ibn Abi Salamah narrated to us; from Saʿid ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz; from Ibn Ḥalbas, who said:
“It was conveyed to us from Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, that he said: ‘Satan keeps company with the dunya (worldly life), his deceit is bound to wealth, his embellishment appears with whim, and he attains his full mastery in the midst of lusts.’”
٤٨٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْمِصْرِيُّ، وَهُوَ الْجَرَوِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنِ ابْنِ حَلْبَسٍ قَالَ: حُدِّثْنَا عَنْ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ (عليه السلام): «إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ مَعَ الدُّنْيَا، وَمَكْرُهُ مَعَ الْمَالِ، وَتَزْيِينُهُ عِنْدَ الْهَوَى، وَاسْتِكْمَالُهُ عِنْدَ الشَّهَوَاتِ»
