Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal

482 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father informed me; Haytham ibn Kharijah narrated to us; Ibn ʿAyyash reported, from Safwan ibn ʿAmr, from Shurayh ibn ʿUbayd, from Maysarah, who said:

The Messiah—peace be upon him—said: “If you would like to be Allah’s elect and a light for the children of Adam among His creation, then pardon those who wrong you, visit those who do not visit you, treat well those who do not treat you well, and lend to those who cannot repay you.”
