- ʿAbd Allah narrated to me; Sufyan ibn Wakiʿ narrated to me; Ibn ʿUyaynah—meaning Sufyan—reported to us, from Abu Musa, from al-Hasan, who said:
Jesus son of Mary—peace be upon him—said, “I have cast the world upon its face and mounted its back; I have no child who dies and no house that can fall into ruin.”
People said to him, “Will you not put up a house for yourself?”
He replied, “Then build me a house right in the path of the flood.”
They said, “It will never stand firm!”
They went on, “Will you not take a wife?”
He answered, “What need have I of a wife who is bound to die?”
٤٧٣ - حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ يَعْنِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: " قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ (عليه السلام): إِنِّي أَكْبَبْتُ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى وَجْهِهَا، وَقَعَدْتُ عَلَى ظَهْرِهَا، وَلَيْسَ لِي وَلَدٌ يَمُوتُ، وَلَا بَيْتٌ فَيَخْرَبُ فَقَالُوا لَهُ: أَفَلَا تَتَّخِذُ لَكَ بَيْتًا؟ قَالَ: ابْنُوا لِي عَلَى طَرِيقِ السَّيْلِ بَيْتًا، قَالُوا: لَا يَثْبُتُ، قَالُوا: أَفَلَا تَتَّخِذُ لَكَ زَوْجَةً؟ قَالَ: مَا أَصْنَعُ بِزَوْجَةٍ تَمُوتُ؟ "
