451 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father informed me; Ḥajjāj narrated to us; Jarīr ibn Ḥāzim related to us from Wahb, who said:
“It has reached me that the Prophet of Allah Moses, peace be upon him, once passed by a man who was praying and pleading earnestly. Moses said, ‘My Lord, have mercy on him.’ Allah revealed to him, ‘Even if he were to call upon Me until all his strength gave out, I would not answer him—until he reflects upon the right I have over him.’”
