Hadith 435: ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father then related to me; Ghawth ibn Jābir informed us, saying, “I heard ʿAbd Allah ibn Safwān recount—from his father—from Wahb ibn Munabbih—that he said:
‘I found in the Torah four successive lines:
-
Whoever recites the Book of Allah yet assumes he will never be forgiven is counted among those who mock the signs of Allah.
-
Whoever complains about his affliction is, in fact, complaining against his Lord.
-
Whoever grieves over what others possess has become displeased with the decree of his Lord.
-
Whoever abases himself before a wealthy person loses two-thirds of his religion.’
