Hadith 428: ʿAbd Allah related to us; my father related to me; Abū al-Mughīra informed us; Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz reported:

David, the Prophet (peace be upon him), said, “My Lord, how shall I strive for You on earth with true devotion?” God replied, “By remembering Me often; by loving whoever loves Me, whether he is white or black; by judging for people as you judge for yourself; and by staying clear of the couch of backbiting.”
