- ʿAbd Allah related to us—he said: My father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Ṣamad reported to us; Jaʿfar informed us; Abū ʿImrān narrated from ʿAbd Allah ibn Rabāḥ, from Kaʿb—regarding the verse, “Indeed, Abraham was forbearing, imploring, and ever-turning [to Allah]” (Hud 11:75). He said: “Whenever he mentioned the Fire, he would exclaim, awwāh, awwāh min al-nār (alas, alas, from the Fire!).”
