396. ʿAbd Allah narrated to us—my father narrated to me—Sufyan narrated to us—from Abu Sinan—from Abu al-Hudhayl, who said:

"Jesus, peace be upon him, was presented with a man who had committed adultery. He ordered them to stone him and said, ‘Let no one who has himself done this deed cast a stone at him.’ They all let the stones drop from their hands—everyone except Yahya son of Zakariyya, peace be upon him."
