395. ʿAbd Allah narrated to us—my father narrated to me—Jarīr narrated to us—from Yaʿqūb—from Jaʿfar—from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, who said:

“When Yahya, peace be upon him, was slain, one of his companions said to another, ‘Send me the shirt of the Prophet of Allah, Yahya, so that I may inhale its fragrance, for I know that I too will be killed.’ He sent it to him, and its warp and weft were made of palm fiber.”
