  1. ʿAbdullāh narrated to us—my father narrated to me—Ismāʿīl ibn Muḥammad narrated to us—Marwān narrated to us—Ayyūb al-Filasṭīnī reported: “It is written in the Psalms of David (peace be upon him): ‘Do you know to which of My servants I grant forgiveness?’ He answered, ‘To whom, O Lord?’ He said, ‘To the one who, whenever he commits a sin, his very joints quake because of it; that is the servant whom I command My angels not to record that sin against.’”
