- ʿAbdullāh narrated to us—my father narrated to me—ʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us—Sufyān related, from al-Aʿmash, who said: Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with him) stated: “Allah revealed to David: ‘Tell the wrongdoers not to mention Me, for it is truly incumbent upon Me to remember whoever remembers Me; yet My remembrance of them will be that I curse them.’”
٣٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أبِي، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ (رضي الله عنه): " أَوْحَى اللَّهُ – Exalté soit-Il – إِلَى دَاوُدَ: قُلْ لِلظَّلَمَةِ لَا يَذْكُرُونِي؛ فَإِنِّي حَقًّا عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَذْكُرَ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي، وَإِنَّ ذِكْرِي إِيَّاهُمْ أَنْ أَلْعَنَهُمْ "
