- ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd narrated to us; and Ibrāhīm ibn al-Walīd al-ʿAbdī, Abū Isḥāq, narrated to us. He said: “It has reached me that Jesus son of Mary—peace be upon him—said:
‘The span of time revolves around three days:
• Yesterday—it has gone, yet you were admonished by it;
• Today—it is an added respite granted to you;
• Tomorrow—you do not know what share of it will be yours.
Likewise, matters turn on three kinds:
• A matter whose right course is clear to you—so follow it;
• A matter whose falsehood is evident to you—so avoid it;
• A matter that confuses you—so entrust it to God.’”
٣٢٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أبِي، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْعَبْدِيُّ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: " بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ قَالَ: الدَّهْرُ يَدُورُ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ: أَمْسِ خَلَا وُعِظْتَ بِهِ، وَالْيَوْمَ زَادُكَ فِيهِ، وَغَدًا لَا تَدْرِي مَا لَكَ فِيهِ، وَالْأُمُورُ تَدُورُ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةٍ: أَمْرٌ بَانَ لَكَ رُشْدُهُ، فَاتَّبِعْهُ، وَأَمْرٌ بَانَ لَكَ غَيُّهُ، فَاجْتَنِبْهُ، وَأَمْرٌ أَشْكَلَ عَلَيْكَ، فَكِلْهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ "
