- ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Haytham ibn Khārijah narrated to us; al-Jarrāḥ ibn Malīḥ—one of the people of Ḥimṣ—reported to us, from al-Aḥmūsī, that is, ʿUmar ibn ʿAmr (Haytham added, “it is said he was from Yemen”), on the authority of Ibn ʿUmar, who said:
“It has reached us that Jesus son of Mary—peace be upon him—used to say: ‘Truly, I say to you: eating wheat bread, drinking cool fresh water, and sleeping on refuse-heaps alongside the dogs is more than enough for whoever desires to inherit al-Firdaws (Paradise).’”
