318. ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: my father informed us; ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us; Sallām narrated to us; he said: I heard Yazīd—meaning al-Ḍabbī—say:

A woman once said to Jesus—peace be upon him—while he was fashioning something from the resources that had been granted to him and placed under his command, “Blessed is the womb that carried you, and blessed are the breasts that nursed you.”

Jesus turned to her and replied, “Blessed indeed is the one who recites the Book of God and follows what it enjoins.”
