309. ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Rawḥ ibn ʿUbādah narrated to us; Sulaymān ibn al-Mughīrah narrated to us, from Thābit, who said:

“It was said to Jesus, son of Mary—peace be upon him—‘O Messenger of God, why do you not acquire a donkey to ride when you have errands to run?’ He replied, ‘I am too honored in the sight of Allah for Him to place something before me that would occupy and distract me.’”
