32 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Wakīʿ narrated to us; Fudayl—meaning Ibn Ghazwān—related to me, from Abū Ḥāzim, from Abū Hurayrah, who said:
“I saw seventy of the Companions who stayed in the Ṣuffah praying in a single garment. For some of them that cloth reached their knees, for others it fell even shorter. Whenever any one of them bowed, he would clutch it for fear that his ʿawrah—his private parts—might be exposed.”
