296. ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us—my father narrated to us—Ibrāhīm ibn Khālid narrated to us—Mundhir al-Afṭas narrated to us; he said: I heard Wahb ibn Munabbih say:

“It is written in the books of the Disciples: ‘When you are led down the road of those who are tried by hardship, know that you are being led down the road of the prophets and the righteous. But when you are led down the road of those who live in ease, know that you have been set upon a road other than theirs and left behind from their way.’”
