Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal
  1. ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us—my father narrated to us—Yūnus ibn Muḥammad narrated to us—Ṣāliḥ, meaning al-Murrī, informed us—from al-Ḥasan, who said:

Noah, peace be upon him, did not pray against his people until the following verse was sent down: “And it was revealed to Noah: ‘None of your people will believe except those who have already believed, so do not be distressed by what they have been doing’” (Hūd 11:36). At that point all hope he had for them was cut off, and he said, “So it was then that he supplicated against them.”
