- ʿAbdullāh narrated to us and said: My father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Ṣamad informed us; Abū Hilāl narrated to us, from Qatādah, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “A servant remains in good stead so long as he is not hasty.” They asked, “And how does he become hasty?” He answered, “By saying, ‘I have called upon my Lord, yet He has not responded to me.’”
٢٥١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أبِي، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «لَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ بِخَيْرٍ مَا لَمْ يَسْتَعْجِلْ» قَالُوا: وَكَيْفَ يَسْتَعْجِلْ قَالَ: " يَقُولُ: قَدْ دَعَوْتُ رَبِّي – Exalté soit-Il – فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِبْ لِي "
