Abu Hurayrah reported: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said, “How many people observe the fast but reap nothing from it except hunger, and how many stand in prayer but gain nothing from their vigil except a sleepless night.”
٢٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أبِي، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «كَمْ مِنْ صَائِمٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ إِلَّا الْجُوعُ، وَكَمْ مِنْ قَائِمٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ إِلَّا السَّهَرُ»
