- ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; my father informed us; Wakīʿ related to us, from Ibn Abī Khālid, from Qays, who said: ʿUmar—may Allah be pleased with him—declared, “Whoever parades his deeds so that people will hear of them, Allah will make people hear of him [to his disgrace].”
