2360. ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Husayn narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Muṭarrif narrated to us, from Hilal ibn Yasaf al-Fazari, from ʿAtaʾ ibn Yasar, reporting from the Prophet ﷺ:

“The world came to me, lush and sweet, lifted its head, and bedecked itself for me. I said, ‘I have no desire for you.’ It replied, ‘If you succeed in escaping me, no one else will.’”
