- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from Abu al-Zinad, from ʿAbd al-Rahman al-Aʿraj, from Abu Hurayrah—who traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ—who said: “Wealth is not measured by the abundance of possessions; true wealth is the richness of the soul.”
٢٣٥٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ: «لَيْسَ الْغِنَى عَنْ كَثْرَةِ الْعَرَضِ إِنَّمَا الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفْسِ»
