- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Hashim—meaning Ibn al-Qasim—narrated to us; al-Mubarak narrated to us, from al-Hasan, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When Allah intends good for a servant, He puts him to use.” They asked, “O Prophet of Allah, and how does He put him to use?” He replied, “He grants him success to perform a righteous deed just before his death, and then takes his soul while he is engaged in it.”
٢٣٥٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْرًا اسْتَعْمَلَهُ» قَالُوا: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ وَكَيْفَ يَسْتَعْمِلُهُ؟ قَالَ: «يُوَفِّقُهُ لِعَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ ثُمَّ يَقْبِضُهُ عَلَيْهِ»
