- ʿAbd Allāh related to us; my father informed us; Wakīʿ informed us; Misʿar informed us—from Sufyān, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl—who said: I heard Jundub say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever publicises his deeds so that people hear of them, Allah will make him a lesson for all to hear; and whoever seeks to be seen, Allah will expose him for what he is.”
٢٣٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أبِي، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جُنْدُبًا يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «مَنْ يُسَمِّعْ يُسَمِّعِ اللَّهُ بِهِ، وَمَنْ يُرَاءِ يُرَاءِ اللَّهُ بِهِ»
