- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Ibrāhīm ibn Isḥāq narrated to us; al-Ḥārith ibn ʿUmayr informed us, from Hawshab, who reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to supplicate:
“O Allah, I seek refuge with You from a worldly life that blocks the finest of deeds, and I seek refuge with You from a life that prevents the best of deaths.”
٢٣٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ حَوْشَبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَدْعُو «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ دُنْيَا تَمْنَعُ خَيْرَ الْعَمَلِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ حَيَاةٍ تَمْنَعُ خَيْرَ الْمَمَاتِ»
