2297 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Husayn ibn Yazid told me, saying: ʿAbd al-Salam ibn Harb narrated to us, from Khalaf ibn Hawshab, who said: Ibrahim declared, “Whenever I recite—meaning, this verse—I am reminded of the cold touch of earth.” He then recited, “But a barrier will be set between them and what they desire” (Qur’an 34:54).
