2286 – ʿAbd Allah related to us; my father related to me; Muhammad ibn Fadl related to us. He said: I heard Ibn Shubruma recite this line of verse (al-baḥr al-basīṭ, the Basit metre):

“How long will you remain absorbed in your worldly concerns,
while the servant of Allah is too engrossed in Him to heed this world?”
