2282 – ʿAbd Allah related to us; my father related to me; ʿUmar ibn Ayyub related to us; Mughira—meaning Ibn Ziyad—related to us, from Makḥul, who said:
“Two kinds of eyes will never be touched by the Fire: an eye that shed tears out of awe of Allah, and an eye that spent the night keeping watch in defense of the Muslims.”
٢٢٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُغِيرَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ قَالَ: " عَيْنَانِ لَا تَمَسُّهُمَا النَّارُ: عَيْنٌ بَكَتْ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ وَعَيْنٌ بَاتَتْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ "
