2275 – ʿAbd Allah related to us; my father related to us; al-Walid ibn Jabir related to us. He said: I heard Bilal ibn Saʿd say:

“When my father Saʿd was at the point of death, he said, ‘My dear son, where are your children?’ So I instructed my family, dressed the boys in white shirts, and brought them to him. He kissed them and breathed in their scent, then said:

‘O Allah, I place them in Your protection from disbelief, from the misguiding blindness, from the trial of women, and from poverty that would make them dependent upon the children of Adam.’”
