- ʿAbd Allāh related to us; my father related to us; Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar related to us; Shuʿbah related to us, from Ibrāhīm ibn Muhājir, from ʿUbaydullāh ibn Bābah, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: “When a man’s only line of trade is dealing in food, he grows overbearing and transgresses.”
٢٢٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أبِي، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَابَاهَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: «إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لِلرَّجُلِ تِجَارَةٌ إِلَّا الطَّعَامُ طَغَى، وَبَغَى»
