2245 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Hushaym narrated to us; Mansur ibn Zadhan informed us, from Mujahid—he said: I asked my father, “Did he actually hear it from Mujahid?” He replied, “It is a mursal report for him.” Mujahid said: “There is no human being from the children of Adam except that an angel is holding his forelock; if he grows arrogant, Allah—exalted is He—casts him down. And another angel holds the reins at his jaw; if he shows humility, He raises him up.”
