2242 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Ismaʿil ibn Ibrahim narrated to us; Rajaʾ ibn Abi Salamah narrated to us. He said: “I was informed that Ibn Muḥairiz once entered the shop of a cloth-dealer to purchase something. Someone said to the merchant, ‘Do you recognize this man? He is Ibn Muḥairiz.’ At that, he rose and said, ‘We have come only to buy with our dirhams, not with our religion.’”
