2233 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said, “My father narrated to me; Muʾammal narrated to us; Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu al-Jahhaf, from Abu Zurʿah ibn ʿAmr ibn Jarir, who said: ‘Whenever two men love one another for the sake of Allah—Exalted is He—the better of the two is the one whose love for his companion is stronger.’”
