2232 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said, “My father narrated to me; Muhammad ibn Sabiq narrated to us; Malik ibn Mighwal narrated to us; he said: I heard Abu Yahya say, ‘I once complained to Mujahid about sins, and he replied, “Where are you in relation to the eraser?”—that is, al-istighfar (seeking forgiveness).’”
