2224 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Rahman narrated to us; Israʾil narrated to us, from Ziyad ibn Fayyad, who said: A man who had heard ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿUmayr told me that he used to say, “Prefer modesty before Allah, Exalted is He, over modesty before people.”
