2221 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Yusuf al-Saffar narrated to me; Abu Bakr narrated to us, from Abu Yahya al-Qattat, from Mujahid, who said:

“On the Day of Resurrection, a servant will be commanded to head toward the Fire. He will protest, ‘This was not what I expected.’ Allah, Exalted is He, will ask, ‘And what was your expectation?’ He will answer, ‘That You would forgive me.’ Allah will then say, ‘Release him.’”
