2213 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; al-Khuffaf narrated to us; from ʿUthman Abu Salamah; from Mansur ibn Zadhan, who said:
“I have been informed that when certain people are flung into the Fire, even the inhabitants of Hell will suffer from the stench they produce. They will say to him, ‘Woe to you! What were you occupied with? Is the torment we already endure not enough, that we must now be afflicted by you and the foulness of your odor as well?’ He will answer, ‘I was a scholar, yet I derived no benefit from my knowledge.’”
