- ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Miskīn narrated to us; al-Awzāʿī narrated to us, from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr, who said:
Solomon, son of David—peace be upon him—said to his son, “My child, how disgraceful is sin when coupled with poverty; how disgraceful is misguidance after guidance; how disgraceful is such-and-such; but worse than all of that is a man who once worshipped his Lord and then abandoned that worship.”
