2198 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Maʿmar ibn Sulayman al-Raqqi narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn Bishr reported that Tawus al-Yamani had two routes to the mosque—one that ran through the marketplace and another elsewhere. He would alternate between them, taking this path one day and the other the next. Whenever he passed through the market and saw those roasted heads, he would forgo supper that night.
