2175 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Razzaq narrated to us; Maʿmar informed us, from Hisham ibn ʿUrwah, who said: “My father fasted for forty—or perhaps thirty—years, and he never broke his fast except on the Day of Fitr or the Day of Sacrifice. He even passed away while he was fasting.”
