2151 – ʿAbdullah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Quddus ibn Bakr narrated, saying: I heard Muhammad ibn al-Nadr al-Harithi comment on His—exalted is He—words, “He alone is worthy of being feared, and worthy to forgive” (Surah al-Muddaththir, 74:56). He said: “I am indeed worthy that My servant fear Me; but if he does not, I am still worthy to forgive him.”
