2139 – ʿAbdullah narrated to us; he said: Sufyan ibn Wakiʿ related to me, and Ibn ʿUyaynah reported:

Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir was asked, “Which deed is dearest to you?” He replied, “Bringing happiness to a believer.” He was then asked, “And what still remains with you?” He answered, “Showing generosity to my brothers.”
