2138 – ʿAbdullah narrated to us; he said: I was informed by ʿAbdullah ibn Muhammad al-Taymi. ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Hafs al-Qurashi reported: Whenever ʿAli ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) performed wuḍuʾ (ritual ablution), his face would turn pale. His family would ask, “What is this that keeps happening to you?” He would reply, “Do you realize before Whom I intend to stand?”
