2120 – ʿAbdullah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Abu Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Sūqah. A man named ʿImrān told me: “I entered upon Ibrāhīm to visit him during an illness, and he began to weep. I asked, ‘What makes you weep, Abū ʿImrān?’ He replied, ‘I am waiting for the Angel of Death (peace be upon him); I do not know whether he will bring me the glad tidings of Paradise or of the Fire.’”
