2104 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ishaq ibn Musa, Abu Musa al-Ansari, narrated to us. He said: I heard ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad al-Muharibi say: I heard al-Aʿmash say:
I said to Ibrahim al-Taymi, “News has reached me that you can go an entire month without eating anything.” He replied, “Yes—and even two months. During the last forty nights I have eaten nothing except one grape that my family handed to me. I put it in my mouth, then spat it out.”
I then asked al-Aʿmash, “Do you believe him?” Ibrahim ibn Yazid al-Taymi said, “He means that he is truthful.”
